List of the Participants in Order of their appearance in the parade. Be there by 10:30 AM. Dress warmly. Parade leaves promptly at 11:30. Awards announced and presented in the Temple Lot after the Parade.

Queen's Title Purchased

In a transaction akin to the Lousiana purchase, Cheri Cole Simpkins outbid her partner to make him Queen of the Parade instead of her. Patrick, who is both Irish and Scottish, agreed to be Queen for the Day all for the benefit of the Sunshine Center.

Grand Marshall appointed

Ken Johnston, long-time resident and teacher in Independence, Missouri is the 2006 Parade Grand Marshall. Ken will help officiate the Parade Day duties before, during and after the parade. Ken is currently running for Independence School Board.

2006 Independence Square St. Patrick’s Day Parade Pot O’Gold for Sunshine Center

Proceeds benefit the Sunshine Center, Independence, Missouri. Their kids will get to be in the parade too.

When: March 17, 2005 –11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on the Square.

Route: Starts at Temple Parking Lot, North on Union to Maple, then Main around the old Courthouse and back on Lexington to the Temple Parking lot. The Sunshine Kids will be part of the parade weather permitting.

Sign up: Let us know who is interested. We need Walkers, Race cars, Classic cars, floats, music and fun volunteers for advance work and for parade day.
